History on a Pinhead

Watson, aka Watson's Store was named for Ed Watson, the man who ran the local store. A school was opened around 1879 and a second school called Pleasant Hill, or Redbud School, was built around 1908. It merged with Briggs schools in the 1930s. The town never developed into a thriving community and the church above and a cemetery are about all that remain today.
