Biography

Always been bit rebellious, therefore came to "official" teaching at the age of 45, returning to full-time study with 4 sons to raise after I gave up on being a respectable married lady. Survived financially by free-lance writing and running a riding school until I was appointed to teach Standard 4 pupils, resigned after 4 months when I ended upon the red carpet after giving an Afrikaans-speaking 9 year-old 150% for his English reading which was equal to that of an English-speaking teenager. Went back to writing and riding, raised my kids and set out to single-handedly "conquer the system" which did not acknowledge a kid's individual needs. No regrets.
